Sara Beautell

Sara began golfing at the age of 7, learning from her English grandfather. He gave all of his grandchildren memberships to the golf club near where they grew up to allow them to work on their game, and as a result, golfing is a huge part of her family. In fact, all of her siblings (4 in total) played professionally at some point in their lives and all ended up having careers in the golf industry!

Sara started playing on the Ladies European Tour in 1999 and now realizes in retrospect that she didn’t have the correct fundamentals that she learned later on from Mike and Andy through Stack & Tilt, which led to her leaving the Tour after some years. She developed a passion for teaching and began pursing it, teaching in the Canary Islands for some time. Sara is currently traveling in China training aspiring Tour professionals. Having played professionally herself, Sara has a lot of expertise with both the physical and mental aspects of golf training and is an excellent instructor who works with both beginners and elite golfers! Par 5 Q&A with Sara

Q: What's your Stack & Tilt Golf story?
A: Years ago, my friend Mark Sabater (another Stack & Tilt Golf instructor) told me that Andy Plummer was coming to Madrid and suggested that we go see him to learn about Stack & Tilt. We flew to London from the Canary Islands (where we were teaching) to meet Andy and to attend Network Training. After that, the rest is history!

Q: What is the one swing thought you focus on when you are standing over the ball?
A: Extension and tilt. I tend to have too much rotation, so I try and focus on these two elements to balance it all out and slow down my turn.

Q: What is the one item in your golf bag (aside from your clubs) that you can't play without?
A: Sunglasses and sunscreen.

Q: What is your best golfing moment?
A: Playing on the Ladies European Tour!

Q: What is your favorite golf course that you have played and why?
A: Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in South Wales. It’s a beautiful course, and I’ve always played well there.

In my golf swing, I have a tendency to turn my head too much and it moves backwards.
